Gabion mattress from Jarosz Converters immersed in Piastowski Channel – Świnoujście in 2003. Parameters: mattress width 2.0 m. Length 6.0 m. Thickness 0.3 m. Own mass (weight) 4 tonnes. Galfan wire was used; anti-corrosion protection: zinc-aluminum alloy ZnAl5, at a coating thickness of 350 G/m2. Wire diameter Ø4.5 mm, tear strength 550 N/mm2
Sea gabions at dimensions 2,0 m x 2,0 m and H=1,0 m. Weight 8 tonnes, immersed to a depth of –18 m in commercial port of Świnoujście – Nabrzeże Górników. . The so-called „sea gabions” are used nto only in the sea, but also on land, to reinforce e.g. watercourse bottoms by power plants, like in Jastrowie.
